If you care about the state of the world and worry about where we’re headed, one solution quietly rises above the rest: education.
Not the system as it stands—but the people within it. The teachers who inspire. The moments that spark confidence. The students who surprise us. The belief that learning can still be meaningful.
🛠️ Researching and Editing Our Way Forward
Waypoint 1: The Journey into Education
We’re not just writing a book. We’re building one—live—with the input of students, parents, teachers, and anyone ready to reflect on what learning should look like in the 21st century.
The project is called:
BEYOND THE DISCONTENT: BUILDING AN EDUCATION THAT WORKS
A Teacher’s Journey to Change Education
It’s not finished. And that’s the point.
Each chapter—what we call a Waypoint—is a working draft, open to feedback, ideas, and collaborative insight. It’s a conversation in motion. A journey we’re taking together.
📍 Waypoint 1: The Journey into Education
Rather than starting with what’s broken, this first waypoint asks us to reflect on what worked.
We begin with memory—of the teachers who made us feel seen, the moments that helped us grow, and the lessons that stuck with us far beyond the classroom.
This chapter shares a teacher’s personal journey:
From door-to-door environmental advocacy to guiding students across deserts.
From classrooms shaped by struggle to moments of quiet understanding and unexpected inspiration.
From early failures to innovations that integrate emotion, structure, AI, and imagination.
It introduces four core directions in the compass of learning:
East – Awareness
West – Understanding
South – Feeling
North – Critical Thinking

What
Let’s write this chapter together—with memory, meaning, and momentum.
What stands out for me, when teachers share life lessons, it helps to motivate learning in the subject they teach.
Teachers that stand out for me, they are very honest and talk to me and care about my problems.
